COVERAGE & TRAVEL
I always get asked questions about my pricing, coverage, timelines for delivery, albums and other wedding coverage details. I have put together a list of questions and answers just for you, I hope they will help you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions that are not answered here. Can't wait to hear from you!
1. What is your pricing?
I have put the most popular packages for you too see on my pricing page. If you are interested in a unique package, please let me know by sending me an email or giving me a call.
2. Do you work with a second photographer?
For certain events. Usually a second photographer is needed in larger weddings with 150+ people, or when a client desires that extra coverage.
3. Do you edit all of our photographs?
No. All images go through a special selection process, where it is then edited (i.e. lighting, color correcting and minor retouching). In the end, you are still able to choose from several photographs that are sharp, clean and Tender Love Images approved.
4. Where do you live and how far will you travel?
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am able to travel around the GTA. Anything beyond GTA will have extra fees added to the total amount due. If you live outside of Canada, other fees such as; plane tickets, food, hotel, and travel will be required.
5. Do you also provide video services?
No, Tender Love Images does not provide video services as we are photographers. If you are looking for talented videographers, please check our vendor referrals.
6. What other types of photographs do you take?
I have photographed: quinceañeras, birthday parties, baptisms, church events, bridal showers, baby showers and others. Email me for a personal quote.
7. We want to take pictures in a super cool location on our wedding day. Do you know if we need a permit?
If you are on site (i.e. Church or venue) then no, if you are hoping to go somewhere else then most likely. Usually the client will be the one to purchase the permit, not the photographer. If you have a question about a specific location and want to know if it requires a permit, you can definitely send me an email and I will be able to find this out for you. If we try to shoot in a location that needs a permit, we will be asked to leave and I don’t want that to happen.
8. Can both of our photos be delivered in both black and white and color?
Of course! I would require you to request that before we reach the wedding day. No extra fees will come from this, so don’t worry, this just prepares me.
9. How long does it take before we receive our products and photographs?
Online galleries are posted within three weeks of the wedding date, and this is when your digital files are released as well. If you have requested prints, these will be available three weeks after your gallery goes live. Upon final approval of album designs, most albums are ready for delivery within five weeks.
10. Are our digital files watermarked?
All digital files of choice will be given to you in high resolution and without a watermark.
11.How many pictures will we receive?
This number depends on the package you choose, the number of guests, the hours spent on site, if there is a second shooter and so on. My average for an eight-hour day with a second shooter will be about 550 images, but these numbers depend on how the day goes and what is needed.
12. Do I get to keep the negatives?
I provide the selected, edited high-resolution files (the digital equivalent of negatives). When the files are released to you, I can provide a list of resources from which to get quality prints if you so desire. I do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, and so on.
13. Do we receive the raw, unedited files?
The raw unedited photos are not available for viewing or purchase. The images chosen by Tender Love Images and final delivery reflect my high standards and everything else is not archived. Please believe me, that any images not delivered are to be dismissed.
14. Are we able to see those raw and unedited files?
The images delivered to you are very loosely edited, taking out only eyes closed, flash didn’t fire, person walked in front of the lens true dismissals. If there is a photo of you with your best friend, mom, dad or sister I won’t dismiss it, unless it’s a duplicate. The images not selected are not archived and therefore not available.
15. How does the album design process work?
First of all, having an album is amazing. Its tangible and something you can have on hand to show family, friends or whomever, your special wedding day. When your digital files are delivered, there will be a separate tab to favorite the photo for the album. I will add a limit to how many photos you be able to add in the album. This depends on size, quantity and shipment.
16. What is the “private online gallery” you mention in your pricing?
The private online gallery is a password protected, private gallery which includes all the edited watermarked images. This is where you will be able to choose your favorite images for digital download, prints and your album. You will receive an e-mail when the photos are ready to be chosen, I will need you to send me a quick e-mail or phone call to let me know you’ve chosen your photos so we can move to the next steps. This program creates a list for me to see your choices, so I know what’s going on. After that, I can remove all the photos you do not like and activate the download button for you too be able to download the photos. In order to download the photos, you will receive a new e-mail with a 4-digit PIN code to have access to the download page. Please let me know if you will want your other family members to download the same file.
17. Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes, I absolutely do! I love photographing engagements. These are the shoots we can be super creative with and not worry to much about dirtying the dress. Yes, yes yes!!!
18. Should we come with photo ideas, or do you decide them for us?
I am open to your suggestions. Usually the photos are natural looking, nothing staged or too posed. Usually we choose the area where the light for taking photos is ideal and then we just let moments happen.
19. Where do you prefer to take the “getting ready” photos?
I find hotel rooms the best place for the getting ready shots. But really it can be anywhere, ideally a place with plenty of daylight. Also, it’s important that you keep the space clean of any clutter.
20. Do you require a deposit?
Yes. In order to keep your spot a deposit of 30% of the cost is needed. This payment can be done through e-transfer, cash, certified cheque, or credit card (this will have a extra cost).
21. Do I have to provide you a meal at the venue?
My experiences with weddings have been sweet. All my clients have kindly allowed me to stay and eat with them at their venues. I respect that. I ask all my clients with respect if I will be joining them or not. In the case where I won’t be joining in the meal, I will need to take 1-hour lunch break to eat some food, payed by the client, this will be included in the final cost as well.
22. Where does the wedding photographer sit for dinner? Is there a preferred spot?
It is preferred the photographer sits in the same room as the wedding party and guests so that we don’t miss anything important during dinner.
23. In case you become unavailable on my wedding day, do you offer a replacement photographer?
It is included in our contract that if an emergency arises and your photographer becomes unavailable, an equally talented replacement photographer will be arranged as soon as possible.
24. What happens if we run over the agreed number of hours? Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
You can always ask me to stay longer. The charge is $75/hour per photographer to stay overtime. You can have both or only one of us stay longer.
25. We love your work! Now how do we reserve our wedding and portrait date?
Yay! I am so excited, glad and honored. What you will need to do is send me an email to let me know your date so I can check my availability. Once we select the best package for you, I will send you a contract to sign and instructions on how to pay the retainer. I cannot hold any date for either a portrait or a wedding without both the retainer and contract completed.
